SOME of Cebu’s best woodpushers are expected to compete in the cash-rich 1st Boss Apo Coffee Club Open Chess Tournament this weekend at the fourth level of the TGU Tower at the Cebu IT Park.
The open chess tournament will be using a seven round Swiss system format with 40-minute playing time and 10 second increment.
The champion will take home P5,000 while the runner-up will receive P3, 000. Third placer gets P2, 000 while P1,000 goes to the fourth placer.
Registration will be held on Oct. 10, Saturday. Registration fee is pegged at P250 for the open division, P200 for the students and P150 for the kiddies and ladies division.
