A 21-year-old college student accused three men of abducting her from a bar then  raping her in a boarding house in barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City.

The woman and her mother filed a  complaint with  the police last Monday morning.

Police arrested a suspect, Peter Espadilla Bendanillo,  caretaker of the boarding house, but he  denied any wrongdoing.

Two other suspects were identified as Mark Anthony Dumpe and a certain Julius.

Dumpe was described as a student in the  university where the victim is also studying.

The rape complaint caused a stir online as friends of the victim circulated photos of one of the suspects on Facebook posts in an effort to flush him out.

The boarding house caretaker, meanwhile,   insisted he was innocent.

“Inosente kaayo ko ani. Naa koy pamilya, guol kaayo sila sa akong gidangatan nga wala nako buhata. Sila man ang biktima. Tabangan nako sila nga madakpan si Mark (I am innocent of the charge. My family is very upset by the accusations of something I didn’t do.They are the victims. I will help them  arrest Mark),” Bendanillo said.

Chief Insp. David Señor, acting head of the Cebu City Police Station 2, said witnesses identified Bendanillo and Dumpe as the ones who brought the young woman  to the boarding house.

The student told police that she was with a group of friends in a disco bar in General Maxilom Avenue on  Sunday night.

The young woman  said she went to the comfort room where two men followed her. She said  the two men grabbed her arms. When she tried to break free, she was punched in the abdomen. The blow left her unconscious.

When she regained consciousness, she said she was surprised to find herself on a bed with three men beside her. The woman said he escaped while the men were still asleep.

A medical examination showed  signs that the woman had been raped, police said.
