Housemaid cries rape

A 15-year-old housemaid complained that her male coworker  raped her twice in their employer’s house in Mandaue City.

The girl said she didn’t report the abuses right away after the suspect, s Zaldy Deñega, 39, threatened to kill her.

Deñega was arrested last Thursday in the apartment where he and the teenager  work.

A complaint for rape was filed against the man with the Mandaue City Prosecutors’ Office.

Deñega  denied the accusation against him, saying he and the girl were in  a relationship.

“Di na tinuod, kausa ra (It is not true. We only did it once),” said Deñega.

The man accused the girl of making up the story  because she was impregnated by another man.

He said he the girl sought his help to have the fetus aborted.

PO3 Mary Joylyn Mahilum, chief of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Centro Police Station, said the girl denied  she was pregnant.

The girl said the abuses happened while their employers were at work.

She said she was first raped last Aug. 16 and the assault was  repeated last Tuesday.

Though under threat, the girl decided to seek help from her brother, who  told their mother of  her ordeal.

The mother and brother went to see the girl and then accompanied her to the police station to file a complaint.
