Binay enjoyed Cebu’s crunchy ‘lechon’ but…

VICE President Jejomar Binay arrived late for last Friday’s visit to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center with Sen. Nancy Binay to donate IV fluids for dengue patients.

He apologized for being late, saying he needed to have his dentures fixed.

He  damaged them when he ate the crunchy skin of lechon (roasted pig).

“Cebu lechon is very flavorsome and I deeply apologize for being late because I went to Gaisano Country Mall to fix my dentures,” Binay said.

The vice president was here for the Visayas launching of his party United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and his presidential bid.

“If given a chance to be the president, I’ll give housing programs to the poor especially in Eastern Visayas,” Binay said.

His daughter,  Nancy, said the overall number of dengue cases in the country runs to  95,000 cases with more than 300 deaths in 10 months.

“A few weeks ago, my daughter was admitted in  the hospital for  dengue. I feel the need to help  Filipinos in this situation, ” the senator said.

Sen. Binay said VSMMC Chief of Clinics Dr. Roques Paradella told her that 30 patients  have been  admitted in different hospitals in Cebu City.

She said the number of dengue cases is higher this year but there are fewer deaths.

She said she filed a resolution seeking a regular outlay for dengue assistance especially during the rainy season,” Sen. Binay said.
