That’s if he wins in next year’s election.
Paul Villaber, son of MIIC president Pablo Villaber, said any further delays in the implementation of their 3,500 hectare reclamation projects would deprive town residents of the employment and other economics opportunities that it would bring.
“Malayan has a crucial interest in the area. And since the election is coming, the best solution is to protect our interests. Although it’s (my reason) somewhat personal, but it (having the reclamation project) is for the people of Cordova to benefit from,” he said in an interview with Cebu Daily News.
The younger Villaber, who finished business management at the Ateneo de Davao University and is now on his second year at the University of San Carlos main campus taking up a degree in Juris Doctor, filed his COC about noon time on Friday.
Villaber, 23, listed barangay Poblacion as his residence for two years now.
His entry will now make Cordova’s mayoral race a three-cornered fight. Villaber will be seeking election against incumbent PB Member Arliegh Jay Sitoy and his half-sister and incumbent vice mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho.
He is seeking election with former town councilor Edwina Premacio under the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) of senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
