Tanjay wins ‘Buglasan’ cooking contest

THE Tinap-ang Pasayan sa Ohong with Papaya Chili Sauce menu of Tanjay City in Negros Oriental was declared first prize winner in the tenth grand cook fest “Buglasan Lutong Garbo” last Oct. 17 in Dumaguete City.

Chef Dianna May Dadios received P10,000 cash, a trophy from the Lutong Garbo committee led by chairperson Sylvia Uy and a  certificate of competency from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

The Crustacea ala Takway of cook Madonna Gay Licerio from Sibulan town placed second with a cash prize of P7,000, a trophy and a Tesda certificate.

Cook Jocelyn Alpay of Mabinay town was at third place for her menu, Kamunggay Kalabasa meatless patty with Kayote sauce. She received P5,000, a trophy and Tesda certificate.

Former TV host and Valenzuela councilor Shalani Solidad-Romulo gave additional P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 cash prizes to the first to third place winners respectively.
