7:00 p.m.- GlobalPort vs. Star

A SHARE of the lead will be the target when the Alaska Aces tackle the lowly Blackwater Elite in the 41st PBA Philippine Cup today at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Aces will try to move up to the top spot currently occupied by three teams.

The NLEX Road Warriors, defending champions San Miguel Beermen and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters crowd the number one spot with identical 2-0 (win-loss) cards.

Alaska started the tournament with a rousing 114-98 win over title-favorites Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters.

The Elite, on the other hand, are looking to barge into the win column after they dropped their first assignment against the Road Warriors, 86-90.

Getting a first victory will also be the goal of the GlobalPort Batang Pier, who will clash with the Star Hotshots in the main game set at 7 p.m.

The Batang Pier took off to a faulty start after they bowed to the Beermen, 86-97, last Saturday.

Star is out to pocket a second victory.

The Hotshots stumbled in their first outing versus the Elasto Painters, 87-96, but quickly bounced back by beating former head coach Tim Cone and Barangay Ginebra, 86-78.
