ARCHCon gathers cosplayers in Cebu on its eleventh year

THE Animation, Role-playing, Comics and Hobbies Convention (ARCHCon) once again united cosplayers (costume players), gamers and hobbyists on its eleventh year.

With the increasing hype in animation, role-playing, comics and hobbies, ARCHCon was packed with people having common interests last Oct. 24 and 25 at the South Town in Bulacao, Talisay City, Cebu.

According to Arnold Justin Evardo of ARCHCon, gathered around 2,000 participants.

When asked how cosplaying in Cebu compared to cosplaying in Dubai where she resided for seven years, cosplayer Nikka Rivera said “Mas open ang mga tawo and mas dili shy mo-approach with one another (The people here are more open and are not shy to approaching each other).”

“Didto sa Dubai ang mga costumes are more conservative (In Dubai the costumes are more conservative),” she added.

The event was also aimed to funds for charity projects.

All proceeds this year will go to the Blue Plate Project of the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu. /UP Cebu MassCom student Leia Pelobello
