Cool weather expected in Panglao for Safeguard Active 5150 triathlon

COOL weather is expected this Sunday in Panglao, Bohol, which may be good news for participants in the Safeguard Active For Men 5150 Triathlon that will start and finish at the plush Bellevue Hotel and Resort.

In the event’s Facebook page, the weather update for the weekend was posted and it showed scattered rains and overcast weather in Panglao, an island in Bohol known for its pristine beaches.

The cool weather may be an advantage for some of the 769 participants but some may also treat it as an added challenge, especially if it rains.

The event is set to be the final major triathlon race in the country for this year.

The race, handled by Sunrise Events Inc. (SEI), officially opened at the venue with the Safeguard Active for Men 5150 Expo, which gave participants and spectators a wide array of sporting goods and equipment from the top triathlon gear brands.

The professional triathletes who are expected to compete in this Sunday’s race will have a meet-the-pros session with the local media at 3 p.m followed by a race briefing at 4 p.m.

The pros who will see  action are Justin and Belinda Granger, Dimity Lee Duke, Mitch Robins, Sam Betten, Dan Brown, Michael Murphy and Filipina pro Monica Torres.
