LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Cebuanos can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms on Saturday, June 6, based on the state weather forecast.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said current conditions are due to localized thunderstorms.
Localized thunderstorms are brief, intense weather events often triggered by strong heating.

Pagasa said temperatures in Cebu may range from 27 to 33 degrees Celsius during the day and from 26 to 31 degrees Celsius in the evening.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail throughout the day.
Pagasa also forecast similar conditions for the rest of the Visayas and Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands.
Ester remains within PAR
As of Saturday morning, the weather bureau has continued monitoring a tropical depression locally named “Ester” within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Ester was spotted at 350 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, by 3 a.m. today.
It moved east-northeastward at 15 kilometers per hour, while packing maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.
Pagasa said the tropical depression will continue moving towards the East China Sea and may exit PAR this morning.

The bureau has not raised any tropical cyclone wind signals as of this report.
Habagat affects Luzon
Pagasa, however, warned of rainfall ranging from 50 to 100 millimeters over Ilocos Norte, Abra, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan today due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

It also forecast scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Northern and Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.
The bureau urged the public and government agencies to stay vigilant as it continued monitoring the effects of the rainy season, southwest monsoon, and other weather systems.
