PANGLAO,BOHOL—Sunrise Events Inc. (SEI) chief Wilfred Steven Uytengsu said despite the praises they received from participants in yesterday’s Safeguard For Men 5150 Triathlon, there’s still room for improvement.
According to Uytengsu, while everything went well with the pros since the attention is all on them, there are slight problems in the age groupers. Uytengsu also decried the lack of plastic cups at the hydration areas.
He said he and fellow age groupers had to share a cup after the hydration station ran out cups. In spite of its being an unsanitary practice, they were forced to drink from one cup in order to prevent dehydration.
Other than that, Uytengsu did not encounter any other problem.
“I believe in the saying that good enough never is, that’s why we continue to listen to all of our participants’ suggestions and complaints to provide everyone with a good race,” said Uytengsu, who joined the age group.
For SEI general manager Princess Galura the race in Panglao was clearly better this year compared to last year where they experienced several problems like unpaved roads and confusing signs at the transition areas.
