TEAMS from the University of Cebu (UC) and the University of San Carlos (USC) booked head-to-head finals clashes in the Philippine Taekwondo League – Cebu.
This after UC slipped past USC, 41-39, and pulled off a 31-22 slugging on Placido Sr. National High School to remain undefeated in the Junior Boys’ division yesterday at the SM City Consolacion.
USC will face the Webmasters again in the same division finals after finishing with a 3-1 (win-loss) record.
Aside from the Junior Boys’ division, UC and USC will also fight in the division finals for the Cadet Girls’ and Junior Girls’ on Nov. 22.
In the Women’s seniors’ division, UC solidified its finals match with the University of San Jose – Recoletos (USJ-R) after nipping USC, 30-19, to stay unblemished with a 3-0 record.
In the Men’s seniors, tournament head Avengyr Alob moved the scheduled match between UC-Main and USJ-R to Nov. 22 because the latter’s players will be on the road to Antique for the Philippine National Games that will kick off on Nov 11.
The University of Visayas (UV), which has been eliminated with a 0-3 record, withdrew from its match against UC that resulted to an automatic win for the Webmasters. If UC wins against USJ-R on Nov. 22, a fourth UC-USC match pairing will be booked.
