Philippine Sports Summit in Cebu on Nov 23-24

THE QUEEN City of the South will host the National Sports Stakeholders Forum or the Philippine Sports Summit on Nov. 23 and 24 at the Crown Regency Hotel in Osmeña Boulevard.

Around 400 mayors and governors from different cities in the country will converge in Cebu to take part in the major gathering for the development of sports.

Organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the summit was initially scheduled last Monday but was moved because of the cancellation of flights for the Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) Summit in Manila.

For Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) chairman Edward Hayco, this is a historic event for us Cebuanos since this is the first time that the Philippine Sports Summit will be held here.

“Imagine top political delegates of the country will be here in Cebu for this event,” Hayco said. “We have to give our best in our hosting of Batang Pinoy as well as provide them a good show not just for Batang Pinoy but also in the sports summit.”

The Batang Pinoy National Finals will be held in Cebu on Nov. 27.

The main objective of the sports summit is to present and discuss the “Sports For All” programs of PSC for integration of the LGU’s and DepEd’s sports programs and activities for the next following years.
