WITH around two weeks before the much-awaited Pinoy Pride 34: Back with a Vengeance of ALA Promotions International, the boxers to be featured in the fight card will first give Cebuano boxing fans a teaser of what to expect on Nov. 28 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
Milan “El Metodico” Melindo and “King” Arthur Villanueva, together with the amateur standout Kevin “KJ” Cataraja, AJ “Bazooka” Banal and Rocky “The Road Warrior” Fuentes, will hold a public workout at the ALA Boxing Gym in Pueblo Verde in Lapu-Lapu City today.
The public workout is expected to showcase the boxers’ prowess inside the ring before they take on their respective foes.
Melindo will face Carlos Fontes of Mexico for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) International light-flyweight strap in the main event while “King” Arthur Villanueva will lock horns with Victor “Spock” Mendez for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super-International flyweight belt in the co-main event.
Banal and Fuentes will be fighting Tanzania’s Emelio Norfat and Afrizal Tamboresi of Indonesia, respectively, in the undercard. Cataraja, meanwhile, will take on Indonesian journey man Faris Nenggo also in the undercard.
