TREES in the island along Maximo Patalinjug Avenue in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City were decked with Christmas lights and decorations in a switch-on ceremony held last Wednesday evening.

The “Light Up a Tree” contest drew 26 participants from various sectors including senior citizens, families, businesses, schools and even the Philippine Air Force.

The event carried the theme “Ang Kahayag sa Pasko sa Pajo nakahatag og kahiusahan diretso sa dalan sa kaayohan ug kalambo-an para kanatong tanan (The Christmas lights in Pajo provide unity toward progress and development for all).”

Barangay Pajo chairman Junard Chan said Christmas is a day of remembrance and encouragement for every resident to love one another and share their blessings with each other.

He said contest winners will be announced on the last day of December.
Cash prizes of P50,000, P40,000 and P30,000 will be awarded to the top three winners.
