THE 2006 Fury evened-up its win-loss record to 2-2 as it tallied a pair of victories over the weekend in Division 3 action in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Sinulog Homecoming Cup at the USC North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.
The Fury first routed the 2003 Stallions, 99-73, as Justin delos Reyes notched 25 points while former M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños stalwart Giovanni Padillo and Jig Paul Morales torched the nets with 22 apiece.
Hungry for more, the Fury proceeded to destroy the 2005 Chameleons, 77-64. And just like in its last game, the usual suspects stepped up for the Fury with delos Reyes rattling in 22, Padillo adding 18 and Morales putting in 16.
In the other game in the same division, the 2007 Waybus kept their stranglehold on the lead in the standings with a close 68-64 decision over the 2014 Underdogs.
Mark Caumeran was the high-point man for the Waybus with 23 while ex-USC Warrior Robert Codilla pitched in 10 to elevate their standing to 4-1 while dropping the Underdogs to 2-2.
In Division 2, the 1994 Bulldogs and the 1999ers stayed ahead of the pack with contrasting victories over the weekend.
The Bulldogs pulled off a tough 90-84 win over the Sipat 98 as Sigmund Cabrera exploded for 32 markers while Alexander Canares backed him up with 18.
The 1999ers had little trouble putting down the USC NC Faculty, 79-59.
Both the Bulldogs and the 1999ers hold similar 4-1 cards.
