A four-way tie at second place will be broken as three teams with similar records see action in today’s twinbill of the 41st PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Alaska Aces will end a long respite when they take on the GlobalPort Batang Pier in the first game at 4:15 p.m., while the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters tangle with sister-team NLEX Road Warriors in the 7 p.m. duel.

Alaska, GlobalPort and Talk N’ Text are tied with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters for the second to fifth spots in the team standings with identical 3-1 (win-loss) cards.

Leading the standings are the San Miguel Beermen, who have four wins and one loss.

GlobalPort and Talk ‘N Text have been hot of late, winning their last three games after starting the tournament with a loss.

Alaska, on the other hand, is seeing action for the first time since losing to the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 92-93, last Nov. 7 in Dubai, UAE.

The loss was Alaska’s first after posting three straight wins to open its campaign in the All-Filipino tournament.

NLEX, for its part, looks to end a mini slump. The Road Warriors lost their last two games after a 2-0 start.

The Road Warriors kicked off their campaign with a 90-86 win over the Blackwater Elite. They then beat the Barako Bull Energy, 93-85, for their second straight victory.

NLEX suffered its first defeat at the hands of the Star Hotshots, 95-97, and then  bowed to expansion team Mahindra Enforcers, 93-103, last Friday.
