ACCESS to the Mandaue-Mactan bridge will soon be restricted anew due to scheduled repairs at the access road approach in the Mandaue City side.
The Department of Public Works and Highways 7 (DPWH 7) began working on the rehabilitation and concreting of access road approach on the right side going to Lapu-Lapu City.
DPWH 7 Director Ador Canlas disclosed this during a meeting with traffic officials from the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu.
Work on the Mandaue City side includes removal of existing plant boxes and sidewalk gutters, acquisition of road right-of-way and removal of small trees and houses.
A U-turn slot will be allotted to motorists to allow them to pass below the bridge to reach establishments on the other side and prevent vehicles from turning left while at the approach.
Canlas gave no date on the repairs, saying it will start soon. Glenn Antigua, chief of operations of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM), said they will coordinate with their Lapu-Lapu City counterparts to map out a traffic scheme.
