Rainfall way below normal

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) Mactan reminded the public to conserve water as the El Niño phenomenon rages.

Alfredo Quiblat Jr., chief for Pagasa Mactan said that as of yesterday, only eight millimeters of rainfall was recorded by the station.

The bureau has projected rainfall to fall way below normal (at least 60 percent reduction).

Pagasa also said last Wednesday was the hottest day so far in November, with the temperature reaching 32.9 degree Celsius.

Quiblat said, however, that this did not surpass the highest recorded temperature in the history of the Philippines which was 37 degrees Celsius on May 31, 2010.

Temperature for the coming days will be 26 – 33 degrees Celsius. Highest peak for the day will be from 1 to 3 PM.
