A 16-year-old boy linked to theft cases was found dead at 1 a.m. yesterday in barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla town.
SPO3 Oliver Dacua of Minglanilla police station said they received a call from a resident of sitio Estaca who heard a series of gun bursts.
Police found the body of the boy identified as Leonides Briones.
He had a gunshot wound in the back of his head.
Chief Insp. Franco Rudolf Oriol said police found out that Briones belonged to a theft group and had wanted to leave, but his group mates killed him instead.
In Carcar City, a 19-year-old dance troupe member was gunned down by a lone assailant at around 10 p.m. Sunday evening in barangay Poblacion, a few meters from the police station.
PO1 Reggie Emad said Pantalion Indig was shot in the face while walking in front of the church.
Carcar was celebrating its annual fiesta last Sunday. The assailant, who covered his face with a piece of cloth, walked way after the crime.
