THE SCORING leader may have changed but the result remained the same as the 1985 Legends charged to their fifth win in a row with a 79-57 victory over the 1988 Barakos in Division 1 action of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Sinulog Homecoming Cup last weekend at the USC North Campus gym.
For a change, former pro Lou Regidor took a backseat to Bing Pua and the latter responded with a massive effort of 39 points.
Regidor, though, was no slouch as he added 23 markers to help the Legends hike their win-loss record to 5-0.
The Barakos salvaged their weekend with an 88-68 victory over the Bai 91 as Edmund Odulio tallied the highest scoring game of the tournament so far with a whopping 41 points. Gerard Bacaltos and Bonito Zanoria chipped in 16 and 14, respectively.
In other games in the same division, the 1992 Rascals and the 1993 Dragons remained a close second behind the Legends as they, too, remained unbeaten with wins in their respective matches.
The Dragons got 18 from lefty big man Bong Eleazar to lead them to a 90-67 win over the 1986 Mighty Geeks.
