CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama and 45 City Hall officials headed to Metro Manila and Laguna City for a four-day Lakbay-Aral (study tour).
The trip is intended to share best practices with other city officials in the cities of Makati, Taguig and Marikina, and Sta. Rosa in Laguna province.
Rama said they first visited Makati City’s Hospital and talked with Mayor Romulo Peña about Makati’s “Yellow Card” health program which won the Dubai International “Best Practice” award.
“Their public hospital is very clean, cold and it’s air-conditioned, unlike here in Cebu. I’m really amazed with what they did,” Rama said in a long-distance phone interview.
They will visit Sta. Rosa City, Laguna tomorrow. In Marikina City, they will study its river rehabilitation and garbage program while they will osberve Taguig City’s award-winning socialized housing program and Fort Bonifacio’s solid waste management system.
The trip costs P852,000 and is charged to the budget of City Hall’s Human Resources Department.
The cost per participant comes out to P16,500. Each delegate is required to submit a post-training report within five working days after their trip.
