THE WOMEN spikers of the Foton Tornadoes will try to put an end to it all and claim the coveted crown with a win over the mighty Petron Blaze Spikers today in Game 2 of the 2015 Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) Grand Prix women’s volleyball tournament best-of-three finals series at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Gametime is at 4 p.m. with the Tornadoes aiming to follow up on their 14-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 Game 1 victory that brought them to within a breath away from their very first crown in this prestigious inter-club tournament.
Powered by the towering frontline of American imports Lindsay Stalzer and Katie Messing together with national team mainstay Jaja Santiago, the Tornadoes took their game to a whole new level as they banked on their airtight net defense, near-flawless reception and furious attacks to dominate Petron in the second and third sets.
In the fourth, the vaunted game plan of the Blaze Spikers completely collapsed, giving the Tornadoes a win.
The Blaze Spikers, for their part, are not yet ready to throw in the towel and will bank anew on the prowess of Dindin Manabat, Aby Marano, Ces Molina, Rachel Anne Daquis and Brazilian import Rupia Inck with Erika Adachi serving as their leader.
