The rebuilding project of the Ateneo Blue Eagles is quickly shaping up as they added another blue-chipper to their fold in NCAA juniors Finals MVP Arvin Tolentino.
After missing out on the Final Four last year following five straight years of hoisting the UAAP title, the Blue Eagles are slowly injecting new blood to the team.
According to a report that was posted on inboundpass.com, the 6-foot-5 Tolentino, formerly of the juniors hoops powerhouse San Beda Red Cubs, is now committed to be part of the next generation of Eagles tasked to bring the program back to prominence.
Tolentino now joins an impressive collection of talent that is now congregating in Katipunan along with UAAP juniors MVP Thirdy Ravena – the younger brother of current King Eagle, Kiefer – and Hope Christian School stalwarts Clint Doliguez and John Apacible.
Pursued aggressively by the likes of National University and La Salle and invited to try out for NCAA Division 1 schools, Duke and Rhode Island, Tolentino is expected to play a key role in the Blue Eagles campaign next season following the departures of Ryan Buenafe, Juami Tiongson, Poy Erram and Frank Golla.
