CanCham: PHL as medical and retirement haven

 

Endowed with ethereal spots and resources, the Philippines continues to create a buzz in international scene especially in the tourism sector. The archipelago remains to be a top contender as recreational and travel destination.

Leveraging on the country’s aesthetic views, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) amassed diverse professionals and students in both tourism and medical fields for the “Going Global: The Philippine Retirement and Medical Tourism” conference last November 25 at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

The four-hour event became an avenue for promoting the Philippines as an alternative destination for retirement as well as a topnotch choice for medical and surgical treatment. Discourses with regard to promising opportunities and corresponding threats of the Philippines as medical and retirement harbor were highlighted during the conference.

Additionally, participants were also given a chance to explore and forge possible strategic business partnerships with other attendees. With the hope of sealing such alliances, a number of expatriate, retirees, and medical tourists were also introduced as members of the global niche market.

The conference was initiated in line to CanCham’s advocacy “to improve conditions and policies for national and international business in the Philippines.”
