CEC cage tryouts start Monday

AFTER a disastrous season that saw the school embroiled in such a damning controversy regarding the falsified eligibility of one of their students, the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons try to get back up and form a formidable squad in time for next year’s Cesafi season.

The Dragons announced the holding of tryouts for their juniors, Passerelle and Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) teams starting on Monday at 5 p.m. According to head coach Rodmark del Rosario, the tryouts will be held every day until 7:30 p.m. in the evening.

“Half of the team will be gone. But first we need to look for good players who are eligible to play. And us, the coaching staff must be aware of the real status of the player and not repeat the same mistake last season,” said the youthful coach.

Though the team still has James Tempre and Vincent Galarse, the Dragons are hoping to snag wingmen and big men to help their cause of making it back to the Cesafi’s elite after winning the championship back in 2010.
