KENYAN Kilomo Hapram and Jeneda Arcuino emerged the fastest runners in the centerpiece 12-kilometer race in yesterday’s World AIDS Day Run 2015 held at the Parkmall in Mandaue City.
Kilimo, who also dominated last Sunday’s first ThreeSixty Pharmacy Home Run held at the Cebu Business Park, finished the 12k race in forty minutes and 51 seconds while Arcuino topped the 12k distaff race with the time of 53:07.
Kilimo’s closest pursuer was Arnel Florentino who crossed the finish line in 42:57 while John Daryll Maños completed the top three finishers after clocking 43:12.
Mereeis Ramirez finished second to Arcuino with the time of 54:13 while Cherry Andrin came in third with a time of 1:02.06.
6K WINNERS
John Cliff Debolusan and Melodie Perez dominated the 6k division.
Debolusan edged Ronilo Gabilan by finishing the race in 21:30 while the latter finished behind him by a whisker clocking 21:31. Franie Canumay wound up in third place in 21:32.
Perez timed 23:37 n topping the women’s race while Lovely Andrin came in second in 26:32 while Sarah Lee Cuizon grabbed third place honors in 27:59.
3K CHAMPS
Ruel Algufera meanwhile, topped the 3k race by clocking 08:35 while Jenecel Sabal ruled the distaff side by finishing the race in 10:36. Simon Dignos placed second to Alguera (08:45) with Reggie Magbulogtong settling in third spot (08:53). Michelle Beboso (11:30) and Rosemarie Tumamak (11:55) grabbed runner-up honors in the women’s division.
The running event was organized by the Cebu Plus Association Inc. (CPAI), which aims to spread the awareness and prevention of AIDS and HIV.
The run’s technical side was handled by veteran race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE). /REPORTER GLENDALE G. ROSAL
