One died and one was injured in separate shooting incidents in Danao City and Talisay City.
Jolan Manulat Ponce, 29, was shot dead by an unidentified man while playing a card game at around 9 p.m. in barangay Looc, Danao City.
PO3 Ronald Gomez of Danao City police station said the gunman wore a cloth mask and shot Ponce at close range in his right temple.
The assailant then walked toward his parked motorcycle and left.
PO3 Gomez said they have yet to establish the motive of the killing.
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man is in serious condition after he was shot in the head about 1 a.m. in barang San Roque, Talisay City.
The victim Solomon Alcoriza and a certain Dennis were having a heated argument when Dennis suddenly pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the head.
Alcoriza was immediately brought to Talisay district hospital.
He was later transferred to a Cebu City hospital.
