Unbeatean Servania ends hiatus vs Indonesian foe in Japan

After his sudden and unexplained disappearance from the limelight,the unbeaten Genesis ‘Azukal” Servania makes his return to the ring when he takes on an Indonesian fighter tonight in Nagoya, Japan.

Servania, the WBO Inter-continental super bantamweight champion, made a name for himself while under the ALA Boxing Gym where he won all of his 26 fights.

Servania, who has 11 knockout victories under his belt, is formerly ranked number three in WBO super bantamweight division but dropped to the sixth spot due to inactivity.

His last fight under the famed boxing stable was in February in Davao City where he defended his current crown with a unanimous decision win over Mexican Juan Luis Hernandez.

According to a report at from Philboxing.com, Servania has not trained since his last fight against Hernandez. He only showed up once at the gym since and was overweight.

The report added that Servania’s contract with ALA Boxing expired last August this year.

Cebu Daily News sent messages to his Facebook account but he did not reply.

His current trainer Franklin Albia, who is also a former trainer at ALA Boxing Gym, confirmed tonight’s fight will be Servania’s first since February.

Albia did not respond to further queries.

Servania is reportedly now under a Japanese boxing promoter, who handles several Filipino boxers.

Servania will be up against Hendrik Barongsay in an eight-round duel.

Barongsay who holds a record of 29 wins with 18 knockouts, 23 losses and three draws.

Interestingly, Servania’s comeback fight will be headlined by a stalwartof ALA Boxing in Vic Saludar.

Saludar will be vying for a world title crown when he takes on Kosei Tanaka.
