AN OWWA scholar successfully passed the recent Mechanical Engineering licensure examination given last Sept. 29-30.
Adam Ruta Cabarrubias took the exam after graduating from the University of Cebu last March.
“Adam is one of our competent scholars who truly deserves the educational assistance of OWWA. He is a model for his fellow ODSP scholars to show that they can become successful in their own field of specialization,” OWWA 7 Regional Director Wilfreda Misterio said.
Cabarrubias was a scholar under the OFW Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP), which grants P10,000 per semester.
The scholarship is given to dependents of OFWs who are active OWWA members earning not more than US $400 a month.
“I thank OWWA for the scholarship. Because of them I was able to finish college just in time,” said Cabarrubias, who credited his success to his parents’ support.
