COMMOTION started at the fire site in sitio Avocado in barangay Lahug in Cebu City this morning after UP Cebu officials visited the area to already identify which part of the property they would need for the planned construction of a high school building.
UP Cebu dean Liza Corro also admitted to reporters in an interview of their plan to already fence the lot which they claim to own after they complete their layouting.
Corro and a group of about five men arrived in the area at 10 a.m.
City administrator Lucelle Mercado, however, told Corro that fencing can’t be done in the absence of permit from city hall.
Mercado arrived at the fire site after receiving reports on the presence of UP officials there.
“It’s our lot, why can’t we fence it?” was Corro’s reply.
Corro asked Mercado that they will sit down with Lahug officials soon so that they could discuss the matter before she left the fire site.
