Cop’s shotgun accidentally fires; 2 other cops wounded

A POLICE officer, who was cleaning his service shotgun, accidentally fired the firearm, wounding two fellow officers inside the Dumanjug Police Station last Saturday evening.

PO2 Edmundo Sala was wounded on both feet while PO1 Loreniel Labasa was slightly hit on her right foot when the 12 gauge shotgun cleaned by PO1 Marvin Libradilla accidentally fired.

Sala and Labasa were rushed to the Barili District Hospital for treatment. Sala was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

PO2 Romeo Legaspi Jr. of the Dumanjug Police Station said that Libradilla was cleaning his shotgun when it suddenly fired. An empty shell was recovered from the scene.
