A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy was killed after he got run over by a van while a 31-year-old man died after the truck he was driving rammed into a cliff in northern Cebu.
Julian Salas Dignos, a Grade 1 pupil, was heading home with his schoolmates from the San Jose Elementary School in Catmon town when a van driven by Elmer Gadiani hit him past 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The children were horsing around when Julian crossed the road, causing the accident, said PO2 Bernard Ares of the Catmon Police Station.
The driver surrendered to the police after the accident.
In Borbon town, Jose Gomera, a worker of Petro Logistic Corp., was killed after the truck he was driving rammed the side of a cliff to prevent the vehicle from falling off a ravine.
Gomera’s co-worker Mylene Solero, 35, was critically wounded.
A 66-year-old carpenter was killed in another road accident in Ginatilan town, south Cebu last Tuesday.
Paquito Matus was driving a bicycle when he was hit by a tricycle driven by Roger Lopez, 36.
Matus was brought to the Badian District Hospital where he was declared dead.
Lopez was detained at the Ginatilan Police Station pending the filing of charges against him.
