THE Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) emerged the winningest team in yesterday’s Sinulog Football Cup 2016, pocketing three titles in three different age groups at their own field in Punta Princesa, Labangon, Cebu City.

DBTC-B opened the Bosconians title romp by ruling the Under-seven mixed division, crushing Giuseppe FC, 2-0, in the championship match.

Don Bosco then pocketed the Under-15 boys title behind the efforts of DBTC-A which tripped Tabor Hill, 1-0 while DBTC-A completed the Bosconians’ hat trick by capturing the Under-13 division with a, 1-0 beating of arch rival Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles.

In the Under-seven, both DBTC-B and Giuseppe FC ended the eliminations with five points to make the finals. DBTC-B defeated fellow Bosconian squad, DBTC-C, 1-0, and had a scoreless draw against DBTC-A. Giuseppe FC meanwhile, drew with DBTC-C and dominated DBTC-A, 3-0 to arrange a titular duel with DBTC-B.

In the Under-15 wars, Dustin Ramirez saved DBTC-A from a sloppy first half when he nailed a goal midway through the second half to edge Tabor Hill, 1-0, in the championship match while Paul Joshua Mapula’s lone goal earned DBTC-A the under-13 boys division crown against the Magis Eagles.

Meanwhile, Saint Theresa’s College (STC) survived Phoenix FC via shoot-out, 2-0 to win the girls under-15 crown.

STC topped the elimination round with seven points while Phoenix FC finished second with six.

Both teams failed to score a goal in regulation so the match went to the thrilling shoot-out. STC failed on its first attempt but nailed their next two wile Phoenix FC failed to score on all three attempts.

Football action continues today in the boys and girls under-18 divisions, men’s open, men’s 38-above and 45-above, inter-BPO division at the same venue.
