THE UNIVERSITY of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers got their year off to a winning start as they routed the reigning Cesafi champions University of San Carlos Warriors in the Capt. Raul Cabanero Inter-Collegiate Basketball League on Tuesday night at the Bulacao Sports Complex in Talisay City.
The result was a far cry from the Warriors’ conquest of the Green Lancers in the Cesafi finals last year. This time around, it was UV that threw its weight around to eventually come away with the dominant victory.
Incoming rookie guard Sheldon “The Bullet” Gahi led the team with 12 while Jun “The Hitman” Manzo, a revelation in the Cesafi finals for UV, big man Michael Macion and skipper Josue Segumpan, had 10 points each.
