CEBUANO amateur runners Robie Catot and Leah Marie Gopez topped the 18-kilometer Eco Run of the second annual Minglanilla Duathlon and Eco Run last Sunday in Tubod, Minglanilla Cebu.
Catot ruled the men’s division as he clocked one hour, 11 minutes and 15 seconds. Bernard Sajibuden (1:14:40) and Ogie Villarin (1:31:31) finished second and third, respectively.
In the distaff side, Gopez crossed the finish line in 2:36:34 to take home the crown, beating runners up Leslie Jane Valmores (3:45:46) and Edeneth Intan (3:45:47).
Apart from Catot and Gopez, Rene del Corro (26:11) and Artchel Lao (50:06) also went home victorious as they topped the 5km Eco Run.
In duathlon, Gazelle Bonsucan (2:58:11) and Michael Largo (2:15:01) ruled the 34-under and 35-under race category, respectively while Pamela Ruiz (3:49:50) and the tandem of Edilberto Batiancila/Lucille Ruiz (3:49:51) claimed the Female and Relay categories, respectively.
The race was organized by the Minglanilla Trail Runners Club, the town’s Local Government Unit (LGU) and Proactiv Sports Race Director Bienvinido Probadora.
