Pagasa: clearer Cebu City skies during IEC closing mass

The drizzle in Metro Cebu is expected to stop by 3 p.m., an hour before the start of the closing Mass at the South Road Properties, according to weather specialist from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa).

Weather specialist Van Singson said the sky will already be clearer in time for the 4 p.m.

Singson said temperature would also improve by then.

Temperature was recorded at 30 degrees celsius as of 1 p.m. on Sunday.

She added that temperature was expected to drop later in the day.

Mass participants have started arriving at the SRP. Councilor Dave Tumulak, head of the city’s command center, said ambulances and medics will be deployed in area to respond to emergencies.

He said that a firetruck will also be deployed near Vestil Street or close to the SRP’s Mambaling access road guard house for mass participants who may want to wash their feet in case the areas would start to be muddy from sudden downpour.

“We are designating a wash area for mass-goers who may want to wash their feet before going home,” said Tumulak.
