THE J. Espina-Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats tripped the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers, 83-78, on Sunday to march to the semifinals of the 1st Raul Cabanero Inter-Collegiate Basketball League at the Bulacao Sports Complex in Talisay City.
Undersized scoring machine Joshua dela Cerna scored 29 points to help push the Wildcats to the next round where they will take on the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars.
Lyndon Colina led the Panthers with 16.
The other semifinals match-up features reigning Cesafi champions University of San Carlos Warriors against long-time rivals University of the Visayas Green Lancers in a rematch of last year’s finals.
Meanwhile in the Inter-Sitio division, the Upper Central won over Sitio Kabanayan, 60-56.
