Pantawid beneficiaries open water refilling station

AT least 30 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries opened a water refilling station in a housing relocation site in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.

The project is a collaboration between the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD 7) through its Sustainable Livelihood Program and the Mandaue City government.

“Being the president of SLP here in Lower Tipolo Housing Association, Inc., I’m grateful for this since this will be an additional income for our family and help us pay the equity of our houses,” Rosanna Santillan said in Cebuano.

Houses located in danger zone areas were demolished and most of the households are Pantawid beneficiaries. They were transferred to a 1.6-hectare housing relocation site.

The partner-beneficiaries were also trained on enterprise development. They were also taught on basic bookkeeping, recording and business management.

The Mandaue City government also helped in providing a lot for the water refilling station building.

“We chose to have this water refilling station business because everybody is already using bottled water and so they won’t walk far just to buy water,” said Santillan.
