The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced that a series of power interruptions will take place tomorrow, Feb. 7.
The scheduled power interruptions, lasting from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m., are caused by the annual preventive maintenance on the transformer at the Medellin load-end substation, said NGCP-Visayas spokesperson Betty Martinez in her message to Cebu Daily News.
Affected areas include those serviced by substation Cebu Electric Cooperative II (Cebeco II), or the Medellin area, excluding barangays Panugnawan and Dalingding, as well as barangays Bateria and Malbago in Daanbantayan.
“NGCP is exerting all efforts to restore the line as scheduled or earlier,” Martinez added.
Meanwhile, the Visayan Electric Company (Veco) has also released its list of scheduled outages tomorrow.
Three power interruptions will affect portions of barangay Mabolo and Kasambagan, Cebu City.
Areas along F. Cabahug and Quirino streets will have a power interruption from 4 a.m. to to 5 p.m., to “facilitate pole reconstruction, line stringing and other primary line works.” Other areas within Mabolo and Kasambagan will also have power interruptions from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
