THE Sitoy family in Cordova town will be divided in their support of presidential bets this coming May elections.
Mayor Adelino Sitoy, who ran and won as mayor in the 2013 elections under the Liberal Party, has announced that he will be supporting the bid of presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of PDP-Laban.
His daughter, Vice Mayor Teche Sitoy-Cho, who also ran and won under Liberal Party in the previous election, will support Mar Roxas, LP’s standard-bearer.
Adelino is running for the vice mayoral post while his daughter is seeking the mayoral seat.
In his birthday message on Saturday, Adelino informed Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale of his plan and even said that his son, PB Member Arleigh Sitoy, a member of PDP-Laban, will be supporting Vice President Jejomar Binay.
But Arleigh, who was not present in the occasion, denied his father’s pronouncement that he will be supporting Binay.
Arleigh stressed that he and his group will fully support Duterte.
He explained that even if it looks confusing, he believes that his father just wanted to give Cordova residents the freedom to choose their leaders.
Meanwhile, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will be in Mandaluyong City today to join Vice President Jejomar Binay as he kicks off his campaign for the coming May elections.
Rama said he will be bringing a Cebu delegation with him for the activity of opposition party United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).
Rama said UNA will also be launching its campaign in other areas in Luzon like the provinces of Cavite and Laguna.
Rama is UNA’s regional coordinator in the Visayas.
