TEAM CEC-D/Dimsum Frito bucked a badly depleted lineup in toppling Batch 2000, 69-62, last Tuesday night in the newly opened Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
CEC-D only had five available players but hardly felt the handicap with Tommy Yu and Judd Veneracion delivering the goods.
Yu erupted for a game-high 28 points, while Veneracion piled up 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Pimco Pimentel topped Batch 2000 with 16 points, while Oliver Boltron and Lorenz Azarraga chipped in 15 and 12 markers, respectively.
Also barging to the win column was Team CEC-E, which blew out Batch 1998/Kaking, 62-41.
Norman Lopez showed the way for CEC-E by firing 17 points. Wilby Tan donated 12 points, while Cedric Chua pitched in 10.
Eric So scored 13 markers and Rex Millan had 10 for Batch 1998, which only managed 15 points in the first half, while giving away 34 points.
