THE fourth edition of the Mactan Ukulele Festival will be held on Feb. 27, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lapu-Lapu City auditorium.
The festival is organized by Frank Cane, a music teacher of Marigondon Elementary School and the school’s music program organizer, with the support of various groups who are into ukulele.
Various activities have been lined up, such as ukulele demo, free ukulele lessons and ukulele display.
A violin and acoustic band concert will be held at 2 p.m. This year’s event is a sequel to the first ukulele festival in Lapu-Lapu City in Aug. 19, 2012.
The festival aims to promote the versatility of the instrument and showcase this by playing beautiful songs and rhythms on the ukulele.
The event will gather local talents, such as the Lapu-Lapu City Ukulele Children Orchestra, Lapu-Lapu City Ukulele Ensemble, the Camolinas Ukulele Group and UkeRhythmics IslanderUkes, among others.
Admission is free.
