Man enters Quimonda to ‘kill’ cop

An armed person who was allegedly out to kill a policeman entered the Quimonda IT Center where the courts in Cebu City are located Tuesday afternoon.

Mark Solon, 23, a karate instructor, was arrested by members of Mabolo Police Station for allegedly wearing the uniform of the Philippine Navy (PN) and pretended to be a member of the agency.

A man asked Solon for his code designation but he failed to give one.  The man then called Mabolo police and arrested Solon.

Supt. Aileen Recla, chief of Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of  the Cebu City Police Office, said the suspect’s target was PO3 Edmund Tiempo of Parian Police Station.

Tiempo arrested Solon back in 2013 for alleged possession of  illegal drugs.

Recla said it was good that Tiempo arrived late for his court duty and the suspect did not succeed in his plan.

Tiempo also confirmed to Recla that he was Solon’s target.
