A SHORT circuit caused the fire that damaged the session hall of the Danao City Legislative Building last Sunday evening, fire investigators said Monday.
Damages have yet to be determined. The Danao City government is conducting their own inventory to determine if equipment and documents kept in nearby offices were either lost or damaged during the fire.
SFO1 William Manto, chief investigator of the Danao City Fire Department said the fire originated from the ceiling.
The fire broke out at 7:30 p.m. and was put out after 10 minutes. The legislative building built in 2002 is now undergoing renovation due to damage sustained from the 2013 earthquake.
Manto said they need to look at the building’s electrical connections for rewiring. The Danao City Council will temporarily hold session in another room located at the legislative building’s second floor.
