Over P1-M shabu seized in sting ops

MORE than P1.5 million worth of suspected drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations in Toledo City in the west and Liloan town in the north.

Several packs of suspected shabu worth P944,000 were seized from Irish Pepito, 24, and Raymond Icot, 24, who were arrested in Barangay Tayud, Liloan.

Irish was out on bail for drug charges, while her husband is in jail for the same offense, said Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos.

Morpos said the two suspects were monitored for one month before the operation was carried out.

They allegedly sold a pack of  shabu worth P1,000 when they were arrested around 1 p.m. last Thursday.

The two suspects refused to reveal the source of the illegal drugs they sold for fear of reprisal, Morpos said.

A separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Yati, also in Liloan,  led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man at around 7 p.m. last Wednesday in Sitio Purok, San Francisco Brgy. Yati Liloan.

Police said Jerome Plana, a resident of Barangay Tabok Lamac, Liloan, sold a pack of shabu worth P200 to a policeman, who acted as a buyer.

Plana yielded seven sachets and  two big packs of suspected shabu worth P182,000, and a .38 cal. revolver, police said.

Illegal drugs worth P500,000 were also seized in Barangay Luray II, Toledo City around 8 p.m. Wednesday from Edgar Labajo Dacuyan, 41.

Dacuyan is out on bail for drug charges, said Senior Insp. Rico Emperoa, chief of the Toledo City Police Station.
