ASIDE from synchronizing enforcement of the truck ban with Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City Hall is also considering the option of opening a cargo transport corridor on Ouano Avenue.
Mandaue City Planning and Development Officer Florentino Nimor said Ouano Avenue has four lanes that can accommodate big trucks unlike some main streets in the city.
Nimor said he discussed this along with a synchronized truck ban enforcement with Frank Brazil, Lapu-Lapu City Traffic Management System (CTMS) chief early this month.
Nimor, also the executive director of Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) said Ouano Avenue is connected to S. Osmeña Street in Cebu City.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson said bridge repairs should be done 24/7 to expedite its completion.
But DPWH has not resolved the problem of settlers under the Mandaue-Mactan bridge after Mandaue City Hall’s Housing and Urban Development Office (HUDO) said they have not yet found a relocation site for them.
