A businesswoman, who is also a doctor, lost at least P400,000 worth of cash and valuables yesterday inside her grocery store in the New Public Market in Barangay East Poblacion, City of Naga southern Cebu.

Florille Badayos reported the theft to the Naga police yesterday.

Badayos said that she left her sling bag in a plastic chair and attended to two women customers and two girls. A few minutes later, when she was about to encash a check, she noticed the sling bag gone.

She told police that the sling bag contained  P200,000 cash; Canadian dollars worth P20,000; Korean Won worth P110,000; and several necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Police were still investigating the theft.

In another incident, Remedios Contreras, a caretaker of Imelda Farmers and Fisherman Association Food Terminal, reported to police that she lost P20,000 cash to allegedly two sales agents of a digital therapy machine.

Police said that Contreras claimed that she believed William Angco of Lapu-Lapu City and Gabriel Gabales of Bacolod City were the ones who took her black pouch, which contained P20,000 cash.

Contreras told police that while Angco was demonstrating their product inside her house, Gabales excused himself to use the bathroom.

She said that Gabales might have taken her pouch during that time.

Police were still investigating the incident.
