THE defending champions Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras nipped the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, 27-20, in the main game of the 3rd Cebu Flag Football League (CFFL) Inter-Collegiate Tournament last Sunday at the UC-Mambaling football field.
Earlier, SWU scored a 32-6 rout of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats in the first game before surviving a grueling match-up against USJ-R that resulted to several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
The Cobras improved their win-loss record to 3-0 while the Jaguars succumbed to their first loss of the season for a, 1-1 card.
Meanwhile, Velez College continued its winning ways after turning back Bogo Citry’s Filipe Verallo Foundation College in the day’s second game, 22-12. Velez
College now holds a 2-0 slate while Verallo dropped to 0-3.
The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, on the other hand, also notched its second straight win after trouncing the Cebu Doctors University, 6-0, in last Sunday’s third game.
