ALL is set for Cebu City’s hosting of this year’s regional Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Meet, which will fire off this Saturday in various venues around the city.
There will be no grand opening ceremony as action in the multi-sporting event will start right away.
Prisaa-7’s Bernard Ricablanca told Cebu Daily News that only Prisaa-Cebu and Prisaa-Bohol will be competing in the regional meet that will serve as qualifiers for the National Prisaa Meet slated April 3-10 in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Combat sports taekwondo and karatedo will be played at the University of Visayas Gym while basketball events will be held at the the University of San Carlos-Main Campus Gym.
Swimming, athletics, football, chess and dancesport competitions will take place at the Cebu City Sports Center while the volleyball events will be at the Aznar Coliseum.
A solidarity meeting will be held tomorrow at Cebu Coliseum and will be participated by athletes and coaches from competing teams.
Prisaa-Cebu topped last year’s competition which was held in Bohol.
Prisaa-Cebu got the bulk of its medals from swimming where it got 14 gold medals.
The Cebu City tankers of head coach Rolando Alvarez will be led by Michael Ichiro Kong, Fritz Tamara, Nil Enrico Micarsos, Jeibe Oriesga and Jaymark Buslon.
The team will also count on multi-titled trio of Beth May Arellano, Trina Caneda and Romylin Nina Ignacio in the tertiary women’s division.
